Our Ethical Breeding Program
At Glenbrook Saltsha, our breeding program is built on a foundation of ethical practices and a deep commitment to the well-being of our Tibetan Spaniels. We prioritize health, temperament, and breed standards in every decision we make. Breeding is more than producing puppies—it’s a heartfelt commitment to preserving the unique charm and character of the Tibetan Spaniel.
Careful Selection
We believe in quality over quantity. Each breeding is carefully considered, and we select our pairs based on a combination of:
Health – Only dogs who meet our strict health criteria are considered for breeding.
Temperament – We look for calm, affectionate, and confident temperaments that make for excellent companions and show dogs alike.
Lineage – Our dogs come from strong pedigrees with proven breed type, structure, and conformation success.
We breed to improve the breed, not just replicate it.
Health Testing
The health of our dogs and puppies is a top priority. All of our breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health screenings relevant to the Tibetan Spaniel breed, which may include:
Patella (knee) evaluations
Eye examinations by certified specialists
DNA testing for breed-specific conditions
These steps help ensure that every puppy has the best possible start in life, both physically and genetically. We are transparent with all health results and happy to discuss them with prospective puppy families.
Responsible Practices
We are proud to follow ethical breeding practices that respect both our dogs and future owners. At Glenbrook Saltsha:
We limit our litters to ensure each puppy receives the time, care, and early training they deserve.
We never breed for profit—we breed with purpose.
Puppies are only placed in carefully screened homes, with lifelong support from us.
We stand behind every puppy we breed and are always here as mentors, friends, and guardians of the breed.
We adhere to the Irish Kennel Club (IKC) Code of Ethics and continuously educate ourselves on breeding best practices.
At Glenbrook Saltsha, breeding is a deeply personal journey—one built on love, knowledge, and a commitment to the betterment of the Tibetan Spaniel. Every litter is planned with thought and care, ensuring that each puppy is a step toward preserving the integrity of this special breed.

Puppy Raising & Environment
At Glenbrook Saltsha, our tibbies are born and raised in a clean, calm home environment. From day one, they experience gentle handling, early social interaction, and safe exposure to sights and sounds.
We believe that early experiences shape a puppy for life, which is why we provide:
🐾 A clean, nurturing environment filled with human interaction and affection
🐾 Age-appropriate sensory enrichment (textures, sounds, toys)
🐾 Introduction to everyday home life (vacuum, voices, music, etc.)
🐾 Positive exposure to people, children, and other pets
By the time our puppies are ready for their new homes, they are:
Confident in new environments
Comfortable with being handled and groomed
Started on toilet training and crate exposure
Familiar with travel and car rides
We use a gentle, structured approach inspired by early neurological stimulation and positive reinforcement, laying the foundation for happy, stable companions.
